| Television shows are not
just given to actors. Sometimes you have to take risks to get them.
Chambers learned that lesson when he heard about this innovative
new kids show Funnybones. He knew he was perfect for the part of
the title character. But the producers felt that Chambers was just
not right.
So Chambers stole the script from the casting director’s office
and crashed the audition. From the moment he burst in the room it
was obvious to everyone that they had found their guy. “It
was no doubt in our minds that he was the one!” said producer/director
Diane Hartman.
Funnybones was created by the incredibly talented writer
Dennis Drake (Down with Love, Legally Blonde 2). Starring
alongside Emmy Award winner Michael Earl, Funnybones
gave Chambers a chance to really show his acting chops. Working
with puppets and animation, Funnybones is a robot
with a lot to learn. Funnybones went on to win numerous Emmys.
After the show was completed ETV decided to create a sequel, GeoScout.
Equally successful, Chambers again played the title role and went
on to be nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Achievement Individual
Excellence: Performer.
